Classes
UX for AI (Integrated Design & Media, NYU, Spring 2025)
Graduate level course exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and user experience (UX) design, with a focus on incorporating user research and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) principles throughout the design process. Students will learn how to design effective AI-powered user experiences by understanding the capabilities and limitations of AI, and by applying user-centered design methods. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, case studies, and hands-on projects, students will gain the knowledge and skills they need to create AI-powered systems that are intuitive, efficient, and satisfying to use.
Research Methods (Integrated Design & Media, NYU, Fall 2024)
Graduate level course that explores the variety of tools and frameworks to use in conducting forms of creative research, with a focus on approaches and methods that are useful to creative practitioners. Apart from methods and methodologies, students read literature from and adjacent to the arts and design on research as well as plan and execute design research on their chosen topic.
Thesis (Integrated Design & Media, NYU, Spring 2024 & 2025)
A project-based course where students undertake a substantial media or design project that demonstrates a high level of competency, creative action, and professionalism. Through workshops & 1:1 guidance, students spend their time working on a project of their own design, culminating in an artifact, experience, or intervention that is accompanied by a written document that describes and accompanies the work.
Integrative Research & Development: Designing Automation (Parsons The New School, Fall 2020)
A workshop-based design and research class that explored the potential cultural impacts of integrating A.I. into consumer products. This course was a follow up to the Research and Development Methods that allowed students to experiment with various research, design and prototyping approaches as they worked on a symester long project.
Research & Development Methods (Parsons The New School, Spring 2020)
This course was an introduction to the nature of design research, where students gained practical experience in the various research and design methodologies. Students applied different techniques to learn how to conduct research outside the classroom and engage users and experts to share their perspectives on various experiences and products.
Innovation (Parsons The New School, Spring 2020)
A lecture and seminar-based class that explored the classic texts on entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly focusing on the creative industries. Students studied the history and approaches of specific organizations or innovation fields to understand the various approaches behind successful innovations.
Devices of Design (Royal College of Art, UK, Spring 2017)
A workshop-based design class for students in the Global Innovation Design program. Students learned about the history of design tools and developed analog and computational design tools for a wide range of creative domains.
Design Objects TA (MIT Department of Architecture, Spring 2016)
Teaching assistant for the first iteration of class 4.031. This course covered the overall design process and provided a foundation in interaction design, user experience, design methodologies, and physical and digital prototyping skills.
